Hi!
I am a Delhi-based researcher, writer and editorial consultant.

My work is centred around women's representation in public life - particularly in politics, leadership positions, and in the workforce. I do this through my writings, data research and editorial engagements.
As the editor at the Centre for Economic Data and Analysis (CEDA) at Ashoka University, I lead the production and dissemination of data-driven narratives that examine India's progress on key socio-economic indicators and the discourse around them.
I also work as the senior program manager for the Centre's project aimed at investigating demand-side hurdles to women's entry and retention in paid work in India. The project aims to design and test pilot interventions to help improve women's participation in the workforce.
I run #WomenLead (womenlead.substack.com), a one-of-its-kind publication compiling the most important updates on women political leaders across the globe. Since its launch in May 2020, #WomenLead has become a vital go-to resource and archive of news and research for scholars, policy experts, journalists and lay readers across the world. Its work has been featured and cited in various Indian and international publications.

In the recent past, I have worked on projects run and supported by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Centre for Budget Governance and Accountability (CBGA), Telus International, Oxfam India, UN Women India among others

I am an active member of the community of experts, researchers and activists working at the intersection of gender and politics in India. My writings and reportage have appeared in a range of publications including The Indian Express, Ms. Magazine, Seminar, Hindustan Times, and IndiaSpend. I also lead trainings and mentoring sessions for young people interested in working on gender rights, social science research, or who want to use data in their writing and storytelling.

My work across roles and projects involves data collection, research, analysis, and using such analyses to develop a range of products – from strategic advocacy tools, to media reports, trackers, policy papers and training curriculum.

When I am not working, I like to spend my time reading, meditating on colouring books, solving word puzzles or exploring places of architectural and artistic heritage. I currently live in New Delhi, but my heart frequently wanders back to my hometown, Chandigarh. And of course, I am always thinking of my next cup of tea :)
